Post by Matt Morrison »

Excited? You should be.

Because now you can search for Lexplorer words and users from the search bar in your browser*. Get in!

Go here now: http://www.apterous.org/matt/search-plugins.php

* tested in Firefox 3.0.10 and Internet Explorer 8.0.6. Let me know if you're rolling with Opera, Safari, Chrome, etc.

Excellent. I must admit my first search was a rude word.

Awesome. I must admit the idea never occurred to me, but I use Lexplorer often enough for it to be totally worth it. Thanks.

I've got Chrome, and clicked to install and got the dialog box with the options which I just clicked 'OK' on. Then nothing. I don't particularly know my way around Chrome yet so I don't know if I can enable other toolbars and shit, but on first glance it doesn't appear to have done anything. Chrome doesn't seem to have a separate search bar, it's kind of an all-in-one so you either type the URL or Google search in the same box.

Interesting. I've never used Chrome at all, but I'd be surprised if it didn't offer search plugins as this kind of thing has been pretty popular since before Chrome was made. I wonder if you have to link it up to a keyword or something, so you can then type in "lexplorer WORD" to do the search. Hmm.

Just took a few moments finding these to install for Heather, so bumping the thread for all the hundreds of new c4c users that won't have seen them.
At some point I should put this into the help section on the site.

I really can't forgive your thickness. You probably use Google and Wikipedia equivalents regularly. I can't really describe them better than in the OP - the top-right search bar you use in your browser. Try here maybe, you dumb shit.

Awesome. I use Lexplorer loads to check words so it's great to be able to circumvent loading the whole site before I start :D
