Taking to the champions chair for the first time today is Chrissie Buckley, who saw off Bob "conqueror of Hamish" Stevenson by 3 points following a crucial conundrum which neither player could unscramble. She's a retired English teacher from Hepple in Northumberland who reminds me alot of Series 54 quarter-finalist Christine Armstrong.
Today's challenger is the ridiculously hairy Paul Casimir, a charity worker from London. He supports Crystal Palace and enjoys travelling and dancing with his 2-year-old daughter Georgia.
In Dictionary Corner this week (for the first time) is financial journalist and "Money Saving Expert" Martin Lewis. His pieces have been concerned with everyday finance, offers, interest, debt etc, which is all useful stuff, and I find him interesting and humourous. His contribution throughout the game has also been well balanced, so all in all he gets a big Corby thumbs-up. It does actually make you wonder why we haven't seen him on the show before.... oh yeah, Carol, right.
