RW "You're never meant to ask people how they feel but how do you feel?" A: "Knackered!"
This was the final recording of the day and I was knack'd! Not an immensely hard game, Janet was usually one behind most times and after round 10 I knew I was an Octochamp. Mildly miffed I didn't get 8 centuries though. I remember Damian saying at the time (quote if I'm wrong if you're reading) that 850 would probably stand for a few moons but several have bettered it since.
Am proud though to be the first ever Octochamp of the 15 round format and probably the first to play 75 rounds in a day. At a time when 15 round scores were still being converted into Octochamp scores from 9 round format, I was being given comparisons with Scott Mearns though I didn't merit it.
Charlie if you're reading, having checked the cdb under my games, my max score throughout my games is 1015 not 1009 because 2 numbers games that Carol couldn't solve I didn't put the numbers solver tool. Really enjoyed doing my reviews and using the recap writer. So if I'm right my ratio would be 83.7%. Also Charlie, we got to finals but never won a tournament, so we should have a special game ha ha.
Lastly I did put that I'd plan to retire but I've buckled out at the last minute due to the fact its not easy and I enjoy browsing and reading the recaps as a way of winding down after work. I will invariably check how Kirk does in the finals and maybe reconsider retirement again in a few months. Tournaments are unlikely though I will rain check and if apterous worked on my PC I would give it a go.
Hope all of you in the community are well!
