Nice... my housemate got it.. he's on the ball today! I'm not... having failed to even meet the contestant's highest in any round (apart from numbers where I'd have been 2 away). He's on 28 at the break!

And the 'O' would've been the next vowel out as well.

Just found out he was using a solver.. I feel had!

Is that a made up word? I can't see it in the OED

Are you using the ODE 2nd Edition Revised?

According to the recap I've just submitted, it was there as a DC beater for round 11.

Yes, always. (provided the word is in ODE2r, of course)

I'm using the "Concise Oxford English Dictionary, Eleventh Edition Revised". Are there great discrepances?

No, just quite a lot of discrepancies.

Anywhere that sells dictionaries. A heads up though, it will cost you £35 :P (unless you find an offer somewhere)

I am trying to watch today's episode on Channel 4 Catchup but I keep getting a media error sign and it wil not play.
Any one else having problems or is it just me?

Much easier just to go on the show and get it free.

I watched yesterday's game in the Green Room with Catherine, and she was a lot better than it looks. I don't know whether it was nerves, but she came out with a few good words in the previous match, and some nice numbers solutions, so I expected her to win. But what do I know?
Am I the only one who wanted a C at the end of round 7? (for 'fricassee', of course)
Also, Jeff should probably check to see if the contestants know where the buzzer is before starting the conundrum...
Watched this game in the studio audience- the first time I'd even been in an audience for a TV show! It was a heck of a lot less nerve-wracking than the previous fortnight's episodes! :)

Who were you with Neil?... just wondering who was responsible for giving the almost-a-round-of-applause that followed Jeff's own 'that's unbelievable Jeff' comment and figured it was more likely to be some of our forumites than the OAPs.

"Creamiest" was the most obvious 9 I've seen for a while, really surprised they didn't both get it.

I was only there with my parents, you can't blame us :) (although my dad's cheering probably appears at the start of one of my episodes). I wouldn't've applauded that line, I'm not actually a fan of Chris Kamara. There were some young people around us (young in the sense of not being an OAP), possibly from Leeds Uni, so blame them. Honestly, they do less work at that Uni than I do!

In round 2 I kept thinking how the letters almost made GANDISEEG :)

Good performance by Ann but she'll have to be at her very best on Monday against the Bevatron Mark II (modified and updated since 2003).

Didn't see this before posting on the other thread but, yes, I'm having the same problem. I've reported it to C4 technical support so hopefully the episode will be up before too long.

After arguing for a couple of days with some jobsworth from C4 (who tried to get me to do everything from reinstall Windows Media Player to reset the time on my PC), I finally managed to convince them that the problem lay at their end rather than mine and Friday's episode is now viewable via Catch-Up. I have to say though it came as a distinct anti-climax after today's...

Thanks for getting them to sort this one, Phil. I'm very glad I didn't do any of the DRM suggestions on the C4 help page - I had a feeling it wasn't my end that the problems lay. Now I can watch this one before seeing today's superior excitement.

Thanks also Phil.
I tried to report the problem but the form kept telling me I was doing something wrong and would need to submit.
I watched Fri programme retrospectively after doing yesterday's (Monday's) programme first and it was an anti climax but I am glad I have caught up with the series.
I only got CREAMIEST out of time and yes it was an easy one to miss. GRRRR!
