I've created a community Discord! It's free to use, you just need to make an account if you don't already have one. Join here: https://discord.gg/NbKZwkzna6

A Discord community server provides a more secure, more flexible, more stylish alternative to a self-hosted message board, while being less prone to downtime.

Ben and Charlie have given this project their support and kindly offered to moderate, with me being the server owner. This community server emulates the structure of c4countdown, with devoted channels for discussions around the show, apterous, Co:Events and random twaddle. The existing c4countdown website isn't going anywhere in the meantime, but the idea is for the Discord to serve as the modern incarnation.

Some nice extra features that have been added so far, thanks to community efforts:

- Daily play-alongs with the show in the spoilers channel
- Integration with the Android app so you'll be notified of tourneys as soon as sign-ups open
- Integration with Fiona's FOCAL word checker
- Unlimited conundrum and numbers games with leaderboards
- Upcoming Zoomdown broadcasts automatically appear in the Discord Zoomdown channel

There's a 'discord-help' channel, so if you're new to the platform then check out the user guide and feel free to ask questions.

This is still an experiment but early signs have been very encouraging, so I appreciate any ideas, feedback, or whatever you can do to make this place feel more like home! Here's the invitation again, see you there: https://discord.gg/NbKZwkzna6

I signed up to Discord a few days ago but still haven't got round to trying this out. (I've had a look around but haven't posted.)

Making a post here to help advertise it, but I'm planning to host some Countdown games on the server!

It's gonna happen November 23rd at 3 pm EST/8 pm GMT. There's a thread in there with a post to react to, so I can keep a list of interested people. If you do plan to join, make sure you have paper, a pencil, and a working camera. If not, feel free to stick around and watch; that's fine too!

Hope to see some of you then!
