The irony of Round 1

I am putting this in the off-topic forum since it has nothing to do with Countdown.
In round 1 of today's game, the name PASCAL showed up on the letter board. Ironically, Millionaire is on in daytime here, and today's contestant had the following $50,000 question:
"Named for the mathematician who designed it, a famous "pyramid" of numbers that starts with the number one on top is called what?"
He wasn't sure, so he phoned a friend. His friend said Pascal's triangle. He agreed and was right.
Up to this point, he has used up all of his lifelines and he is just two questions away from $1,000,000.
This man was a contestant on US Jeopardy! 23 years ago. His name? Roger Storm.
I think he just might "storm" his way to $1,000,000! He just might win it!
Curious? I will keep you all posted and bump this thread tomorrow. That is when he will be back and take a shot at $1,000,000.

I think you might be confusing irony with coincidence, Jason, unless I'm missing the point somewhere.
Hope he wins the million, though - always exciting!

I apologize for not bumping this thread any sooner.
Roger's $500,000 question was as follows:
"In 1902, Willis Carrier became the father of modern air conditioning when he developed a humidity controller for use where?"

Burlesque Theater
Printing Shop
Stumped? The correct answer was...
PRINTING SHOP, WHICH HE THOUGHT IT WAS INITIALLY!!!
He stopped at $250,000.
You would have to be a fool to risk that kind of money! $250,000 is a lot!
Oh well, he can do a lot with $250,000, and he was a great contestant.

The guy won $250,000, not the million!
I wonder where the topic of racism came from!
