Co-Event promotion on social media

Just to reiterate what I said at Rugby yesterday ...

It would be great if event attendees could help with event promotion by sharing their experiences (good ones!) on social media, not just to help spread the word and generate interest about our events, but also to show some support to our host venues, particularly the good ones.

The Rugby West Indian Club, where we've had all the Co:Rugby events, is a great venue for us ... they're super-friendly and welcoming, and we love going back there. They're also struggling at the moment, so every bit of chatter we can generate for them might help. This is both altruistic and selfish ... it would be great to help them out, and a PITA if we had to find a new venue!

Tag them in posts, leave them a Google review, etc.

Don't forget to tag @focalcountdown as well!

Obviously this applies to all events and venues, not just Rugby :)

As an addendum to this, but for event hosts ...

1. Is your venue active on social media?
This year, mine approached me and asked for photos from last year, and have been sharing and promoting the event on their socials.
They even created an event page for me at https://allevents.in/london/co-lon-2025 ... 7871436936#
Approach your venue and ask if they can promote your event on their socials, as well as tagging them in to your own posts.

2. allevents.in seems like a good resource ... I can see that Monasteraden is on there. Can't do any harm to add your events to it.

3. Does your venue allow/encourage any advertising there? Mine does, they have a digital display which rotates through a bunch of ads, including one for Countdown. Ask your venue if you can promote your event at the venue.

4. I just asked at my local library, and they were happy for me to put up a flyer for CO:LON (even though it's not actually in the same borough!).
Are there places in the local area where you can put up advertising for your event?
