Hello and welcome to another Tuesday recap

On this day in 1984 the first Champions of Champions came to our screens this tournament comprised of Series Champions Runners up and some of the best finalists, the inaugural tournament was won by series 3 runner up Mark Nyman and the most recent winner is Ahmed Mohamed series 84 champion.

Former Countdown producer and Series 3 runner up Mark Nyman who was the first Champion of Champions winner. A special Champion of Champion of Champions was screened on 13/10/86 making this the first special episode featuring the first two Champion of Champions winners Mark Nyman and Clive Freedman it was a close contest between the two of them, with Mark Nyman running out as the eventual winner in the first ever special episode.

Series 84 Champion Ahmed Mohamed and the most recent winner of Championship of Champions XVI

Eight of those were series champions in their own rights, Natascha Kearsey series 35 Semi-Finalist the only female winner to date( that still stands to this day )

We have a new champion in Neil...........Laura gave as good as she got but had the last laugh by solving the conundrum she will be satisfied with her 1 win and the teapot...........join me for any future recaps in the meantime it is bye for now !
