This is mine - overturning a 26-point deficit with 3 rounds to go against a legend of the game.

Could these be found automatically (by largest deficit before eventually winning, for example)? Probably expensive to compute though.

You're one step ahead of me. Or I of you, I'm not sure. I did some preliminary digging on this today and it took about 180 seconds of database computation just to find my own biggest comeback. Unless I have some spiffingly clever idea to speed that up, it's not really something I can roll out publicly.

I can offer this one, and I can only remember that one because it was earlier tonight. I must've done some others, though.

Chris' round 1 was a beaut, as was his round 9

A VFSMB to anyone who can say which round Mikey's countmax crashed and which round Jono decided to fire his up?

This is pretty good: Jim has a nightmare game, with 3 words disallowed, and trails by 37 with 4 to play. Numerically speaking the best comeback in Aptohistory.

And here's another classic Jim comeback, again from 37 behind but this time he manages to have a 9 disallowed and still come back to win it. Which idiotic opponent allowed this catastrophe to unfold, I wonder?

Jim is the undisputed comeback king. In fact judging by the number of times I've been 18-0 up after a round against him, it might be some tactical thinking.

Hahaha, yes, that's the reason. My tactics also involve falling further and further behind as the game goes on so that I can mount an amazing comeback after round 10. Admittedly, I've not really got the hang of the latter bit just yet, but one day, one day...

I can join in with this one. http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=11093 - I went 18-0 up against Jim here (with MELIORIST which apparently no-one else has manged to get) but he still won.

Anyone ever recovered from 36-0 down after round 2? Bottling the last numbers didn't help but just about got past the line:

I'll post this on behalf of Mr I. Carson- 18 down with 3 to go and he turns it round on a tiebreaker conundrum. Especially gutting as I buzzed for the conundrums at almost exactly the same time, but that split second speed is the difference between a 1600 and a 1000 I guess! The pain was further compunded with stupid misses in rounds 3 and 7.

Good to see Kirk getting taken from behind again. Seems like missing the simple 7s in round 10 really rattled him and he only scored 1 max after that, whereas you played consistently throughout. I'm sure there's some metaphor about tortoises and hares in here but I'm damned if I can remember it.
