An excellent YouTube clip

...and no, it's not CUNTFLAPS. (Sorry Kai.)
It's
this. Circa 1999, Richard and Carol found themselves heavily delayed in reaching Leeds and boredom threatened to ravish the studio audience. Cue Greg Scott in the presenter's chair, Diane Barr the production secretary putting up letters and writing down numbers solutions, and perhaps best of all our contestants are Damian Weedy and the late Michael Wylie as... Michael Arafat. No, really.
Well worth ten minutes of your time, if only for Damian's numbers selection at 4:46 and the 'special' round at 5:26.

And the doctored '4' logo at the very beginning.

That was hilarious! I would have loved to have seen the uncut version. The conundrum was superb too.

Nice find Chris.
There was a Christmas special between Carol and Richard, but does anyone know if there would be one between Jeff and Rachel?

Kai, nothing against you, honestly!
In fact, I don't remember, did you say you didn't want to be on any other game show besides Countdown?

Finally, a show involving Conor has been uploaded to Youtube. Clip 1 of 4 starts here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kssZVYbfg0U
It's in the days of him not having had his voice broken yet. After hearing Conor many times since he recorded I couldn't remember what he sounded like on his octorun and now I can! Sounds soooo young! I'd love to have footage to hear how I sounded aged about 12.

It was a bit of a weird question that Des asked just after 2 minutes: "How ambitious would you be to win the whole thing?" Conor looked a bit confused by it I thought.

It's a totally ambiguous question. Based on his reaction, I think Deso meant "How much do you want to win the whole thing?" whereas Conor interpreted it as "How difficult do you think it would be?" So Conor was being modest (as ever) and Deso was being incomprehensible (...).
