Will today's contestant have the bollocks to beat the banker, or will they sob worthlessly into Noel Edmonds' stiff lap?

R2: I am presuming that MOUNTIES is not good?

R3: classic example of the problem with Rachel not putting words up (and I know that will be changing soon).
Susie said "you can spell HARKEN with an E in front" but surely she didn't mean EHARKEN?

No, I tried that in one of my games but it's capitalised.

OUTLINES round 2, HANKERER in round 3 though in all honesty I probably wouldn't have tried HANKERER if I'd been playing myself, I wasn't totally sure of it until I checked in the ODE2 just.

I found it quite amusing when Rachel found she'd run out of space a bit on the numbers board :)

Yeah I noticed the stemmer didn't have it, then remembered it comes from their official name (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) so presumably retains the proper-nounage.

Still stunned by WINDSLAB being an actual word - one of those rare words that's okay in Countdown but not in Scrabble.

I would have been tempted to try WINDABLE in that round (as in, "this watch is windable") but it seems it's no good.

I was surprised at both contestants declaring 6 when DENIALS was a fairly obvious 7, and also at Roy risking SABLED but not seeing DISABLE.

Well done to todays challenger. I had a right mare in todays game. I didnt think positive or bring a lucky charm or anything!

On a more serious note SOBRIETY was a quality spot as was LOUVRED

I missed an enormous amount of stuff today. I couldn't get any of the numbers (remind me again who was it that said that Rachel wasn't good enough at the numbers). Think I had about 5 maxes in the whole game, although I did get the conundrum.

4 maxes for me this time, lowest in quite some time. Never heard of LOUVRED, SMIDGEON with the "O" or WINDSLAB.

Novel version of R14

75/5 = 15
15- 8 = 7
(50 + 1 ) * 7 = 357

Hats off to Rachel today for sure.

DC

Funny that, because I'd never have thought of spelling it any other way.

Today also marked the first occasion where I used a trick learnt from the forum, namely DEPART+O=ADOPTER. Thanks c4c!

I wish we had some kind of kudos button on posts on this forum, so I could just click and give you some props for a great post.
Sometimes all you want to do is just laugh and it seems bulky to have to leave a whole message to do so, but on the other hand it'd be criminal to ignore a quality post. :)

I had a 9/15 max game today which is lower than I hope for. I saw LOUVRED but forgot whether it was in or not and so I didn't count it. I also missed CAGIEST which annoyed me, but WINDSLAB was a quality spot as was TETRAPOD (although I'm kicking myself about this as it's high prob and it's on a list of words I've missed recently and am trying to memorise how to spot).
