Remind me never to get operated on by Susie Dent! She was wrong about the midline. I'd happily be operated on by Justin Moorhouse with his superior knowledge of human anatomy.
midline: a median line or plane of bilateral symmetry, especially that of the body

Having Googled this, I don’t think she was wrong? She was talking about a certain midline incision which can go horizontal depending on where they’re cut.

Incisions can be of multiple types, but I'm pretty sure that a midline incision must be vertical, i.e. go through the midline of the body. A horizontal incision can't really be "midline" in any sense. Suffice to say, after having read yours and Susie's responses have decided to cancel my surgery and book in with Mr Moorhouse. I hear he has better surgical after-care too!

Mr Moorhouse intimated that the midline was down the middle of the body and proceeded to open the patient up.
Ms Dent interjected that it could also be transverse, and proceeded to create an additional transverse incision on the patient,
but then she said she could be wrong and perhaps Mr Moorhouse was right, and that she would have to check.
The patient was left bleeding whilst the rest of the show proceeded without any conclusion to this dilemma.

Rachel quipped - "Well you did ask for an inverted-T! Should have gone 6 small like I suggested."
