John Inverdale, whom I rate as an 'A List' Dictionary Corner guest, completes his list of 10 ten deadliest creatures.
Number 2 is (unsurprisingly) a snake, the inland taipan from Australia, which has enough venom to kill 250,000 mice - and quite a few people I would imagine. Lucky that it is shy and elusive! Wouldn't make a very good CD forumite would it!
Number 1 is (surprisingly) the innocuous sounding mosquito, which carries many deadly diseases which are fatal to humans, including: MALARIA, ENCEPHALITIS, WEST NILE FEVER, DENGUE FEVER and YELLOW FEVER.

Well done to Mike for hanging in and coming through strongly at the end to show a good positive approach.

John Inverdale finishes the show by telling us his favourite sporting event is the Cheltenham National Hunt racing Festival and he would love to have a part ownership in a Gold Cup winner at the Festival, which is coming up in the second week of March. It is also one of my highlights of the year, as I am also a keen racing fan.

John's Words of Wisdom: I would never have thought that the mosquito was the most deadly animal in the world! I get bitten by mosquitoes all the time when I'm out on a hot day! They love my blood! By the way, I was just thinking about the fact that I will need to buy bug spray if and when I go out on such a day soon -- that's how much they love my blood!

Round 6 there was only one S which is why GRASPS was disallowed. It is a perfectly valid word otherwise.
Round 7 there was no T which is why JOLTED was disallowed. It is also a perfectly valid word otherwise.
