Merry Xmas C4C! 2022

Post by JackHurst »

I sincerely hope you all had a good year and that you have a good Christmas and new year. I know that Christmas is a different experience for different people and can be challenging for some.

Let's all just agree that anagrams are the best. Number are ok too.

What was your high of 2022?
And (If you want to share) what was your biggest challenge of 2022?

Big happy holidays to you guys, can definitely say the height of it was coming out to London to play some Countdown with some of you guys. Cannot wait to do that again!

Don't know if I didn't read your post properly but to answer your question as of today my highlight was my appearance on Countdown but will be topped by my Daughter coming to visit from Japan on Tuesday.
Biggest Challenge has been dealing with my partners mental health problems as a result of Covid but although we are still not married the vows in sickness and in health mean a lot to me especially as 11 years ago when we met I was the one with the mental heath issues.
Here's hoping to a great 2023

Low point for me was generally every time I tried to slice a malt loaf for breakfast. They seem to have air bubbles in them and it makes them impossible to slice nicely.

'God rest ye merry Aptofolk, let nothing you dismay, for Jesus Christ our saviour was born on Christmas day! To help us all to spot our 9s when we were gone astray'

(My skills of re-writing Christmas carols leave much to be desired, I know. Edit as approriate to your preferred Christmas tune :P )

Hearty Christmas blessings, wishes, and warm feelings to all of you wonderful peeps. 2022 has hardly been a barrel of laughs and having this community as a bolthole is valuable. You are all epic-thank you for being an awesome lot. Merry Christmas and here is to 2023 full of further anagram-based madness :D

Merry Christmas to you all. Which Christmas Day parkrun are you all doing? I'll be doing my local at Great Notley.

And to you! The thing I am most excited about for tomorrow is the pack of Babybels that I bought just so I can put them on the dinner table and make a terrible pun when someone asks why they're there (£2.65 well spent) :D Has been a pretty reasonable year - no major dramas, which is definitely a good thing! Have had lots of fun - trip to Oz was awesome, and two UK based cycling adventures. Have really enjoyed all the co-events I've attended and hosted, as well as a trip to Malta for Scrabble which was cool. Happy that I've already got lots booked in for first few months of 2024 - love seeing and playing countdown with you lot!

Edit in reply to Gavin - will be at my regular Frimley Lodge for parkrun! Parkrun ambitions for 2024 is to finish the alphabet (currently scheduled for 2 March if all goes to plan) and hit my 500 round about co:oxford depending how many I miss/don't miss! (Hitting Oxford means missing 0 which is unlikely!)
