I've become a ratings wanker

Post by Fiona T »

Tis in the title.

Have honestly never given a toss about apto ratings. But am teetering on the cusp of 1700 and am properly caring for the first time! 1700 was stuff of dreams...! With higher ratings come bigger falls - a loss to a lower rated players I frequently lose to and I'm down 20+ points!

(Credit the boost to Rob - have been half-arsedly Ankiing his list for the last few weeks! - cheers Roberto!)

I don't know about Apterousbut there are scrabble players who won't enter small tournaments for fear of losing ratings points.
Enjoy the game is what I say

There are treatments available on the NHS for this.

haha yep - that's always been and still is my philosophy - I'd never decline a game because of ratings fears. But 1700 would be nice - suspect it will all go south very soon and I'll stop caring again :)

Well I think there are two valuable lessons to be ignored here -

1) Don't play apto after wine
2) Don't post on c4c after wine

It took 7 games to gain 28 points
It took 1 loss to take away 26 of them.

Can be a cruel cruel system at times...
