Disallowing AMBERS was not correct IMHO: definition 1.2 suggests it’s countable:

A yellow light used as a cautionary signal between green for ‘go’ and red for ‘stop’.

You can install ambers, you can obey ambers.

Strange conclusion also: in the conundrum, challenger said CLOSING, champion said ECLOSING, then the answer was immediately revealed as ENCLOSING. A canned applause was added in editing, suggesting he got it right. He was not awarded the 10 points, which was correct.

Not the first time it’s happened on TV; on The Chase: Celebrity Special and Celebrity Beat the Chasers, once each, a canned applause was added after a wrong answer was given.

When Chris said "CLOSING", I thought to myself "Oh crap, he just gave away the answer to Jasamrit"...

Reminds me of an episode of Celebrity Catchphrase when Jimmy Carr answered with Pirate Videos, then said the correct answer Pirate DVDs a second later. The other two contestants then buzzed in with Pirate CDs and Pirate Movies.

Emlyn Hughes once stole a win in an episode of A Question Of Sport after Bill Beaumont's team was asked the rugby question "who won the Stewart Wrightson Trophy last year?". Beaumont's incorrect guess of the Army rather gave the game away to the otherwise clueless Hughes.

Rachel and Susie were clapping, so probably not adding in editing. I think Sam CL said the applause is pumped in "live" anyway.

Technically still constitutes as a canned applause though.

I also noticed Rachel and Susie clapping but from a viewer’s perspective it’s still unnecessarily confusing.
