If A=1 and B=2 and so on what is the name which would score the most points.

e.g Eoin would score 43 points because E=5, O=15, I=9 and N=14 points

Joseph would score 73, but the longest name would most likely have the highest score (eg CHRISTOPHER etc).

EDIT: If you went by the Scrabble scoring, Joseph is worth 18 points.

something biblical which is both long and full of Zs. Zanzibar. zachariah. or something with lots of r,s,t,w. christopher good for that. constantinople. problem with names is that you can name a child anything you like, so there are tons of names out there which most people wouldn't think of as a name.

we named our son felix, which we liked partly cos it contains high-scoring scrabble letters. was a big factor for me.

Personally I'm worth 82 (and only if I use MATTHEW not MATT obviously!)

Zhyrhyle (which is apparently an English(?) variant on Cyril) is worth 127 points.

I can think of one at least who's lower. And he'll be at COLIN. :)

And his surname could well be the highest.

Is it not Daniel?

(I say it is anyway.)

Damn - there are 2 Bobs on the forum. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that their first names are actually Bobette and Bobriella, therefore giving the award to me. :D

Unlucky. Those Xs in XXXVII are going to ruin your score. Well, unless you're aiming for highest points now? :D

There's also an Adam for 19, and that's certainly not shortened. :)

Not in the forum, but I have a friend called Ana which must do pretty well at only 16 points.

Actually, screw that. I also know an Abi (not Titmus) which is only 12 points.

EDIT: they're not short for Anabel or Abigail respectively

I think that's me :) And my surname isn't too bad either... apart from the stupid X! lol. 76! Maybe it is bad after all!
