Places to state the bleeding obvious.
I will start.

Rachel Riley has just blocked Craig Beevers on Twitter
A group for contestants and lovers of the Channel 4 game show 'Countdown'.

I think your comment was more obvious than the OP.
Sorry in my bubble of the Scrabble community I didn't realise .Ian Volante wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 12:36 pm I don't follow the politics of previous Countdown contestants too closely!
I don't do Twitter but from Craig's perspective it seemed an overreaction.L'oisleatch McGraw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 4:48 pm The bad person in that scenario is Rachel Riley, unless he was bullying her personally.
If it was purely a block based in a difference of opinion, that's disappointing.
Anyone can block who they like for whatever reason they like (or no reason at all) - no public justification needed.L'oisleatch McGraw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 4:48 pm The bad person in that scenario is Rachel Riley, unless he was bullying her personally.

Likewise.
i know that, but only the worst sorts of people would do it over a difference of opinions... which makes me question the OP. There must have been a very good reason for a sensible person like Rachel to have done it.
Just did some googling and it turns out Westmonster was founded by Aaron Banks, who also founded the leave.EU campaign, who have been famously truthful in all of their dealings with the public.Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 6:59 pm Trawling through my Facebook I found that Rachel blocked Craig because he disagreed that Westmonster (?) was a fake news site peddling crap about not opening our borders to refugees.
Hope this helps

Yeah I've had many a bag of popcorn reading through his stuff.L'oisleatch McGraw wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:11 pmInteresting.Ben Wilson wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 7:23 pm Just did some googling and it turns out Westmonster was founded by Aaron Banks, who also founded the leave.EU campaign, who have been famously truthful in all of their dealings with the public.
So it was idiotic of him to defend them then. Still not a good reason to block someone ...unless of course the exchange was obnoxious or rude (which I am going to have to assume it was.)
The upshot of all of this is that I sent our Craig a friend request on facebook to see what the craic is... and yes, he is proving to be unashamedly right wing. Good value so far.
Or No Twit Sherlock, given the dominant subject matter in this thread.Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 1:08 pm In retrospect I should have named the thread Quelle Surprise
I don't know. I think some blockings could be described as an overreaction, but is it that big a deal to block someone in the general scheme of things? "The worst sorts of people"?L'oisleatch McGraw wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 6:41 pmi know that, but only the worst sorts of people would do it over a difference of opinions... which makes me question the OP. Not more than a boxer surely or other combat sports where head trauma could happen like MMAGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 7:13 am Football and rugby players are at greater risk of dementia.
Greater risk compared to your average person. It came up on BBC Breakfast this morning.Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:08 amNot more than a boxer surely or other combat sports where head trauma could happen like MMAGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 7:13 am Football and rugby players are at greater risk of dementia.
I missed a term of school due to avoiding Judo in PEGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 12:42 pm But yeah, it always irked me at school that we were expected to play rugby and head the ball in football. Surely engaging in such risky activities should be a choice, not a compulsory part of education. Anyway, I basically played ball avoiding for the most part. Fuck that shit.
This is why PE lessons at school are often really badly thought out ideas for keeping children fit. They only suit the jocks.
You got to do Judo in PE?! And you avoided it?!?!Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:15 pmI missed a term of school due to avoiding Judo in PEGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 12:42 pm But yeah, it always irked me at school that we were expected to play rugby and head the ball in football. Had an evil big brother, so I'm phobic about being pinned to the floor.Callum Todd wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:34 pmYou got to do Judo in PE?! What, you don't like swimming because of your big brother, or you don't like been pinned to the floor underwater?Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:56 pmHad an evil big brother, so I'm phobic about being pinned to the floor.
You can add swimming to that list
Probably both.Ian Volante wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 9:54 pmWhat, you don't like swimming because of your big brother, or you don't like been pinned to the floor underwater?Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:56 pmHad an evil big brother, so I'm phobic about being pinned to the floor.
