In case anyone is interested there is an article about the new look Countdown in today's (Saturday 3rd Jan) colour magazine. And it appears to be a reasonably accurate report of a day's recording of Countdown.

I've seen the article and should add that it contains a small spoiler for CoC. It hints at the result of one of the first round matches and gives away a 9-letter word found by one of the contestants.

It's available on The Guardian's website (in the Weekend section) too. But the print version does have a nice pic of Rachel by the great Eamonn McCabe.

The article is here. It makes interesting reading, especially finally getting to hear Damian's take on the whole Carol debacle. And I think Kai should change his avatar to a picture of Bart Simpson.

I think the Guardian misprinted this bit - "David O'Donnell, a quietly spoken man from Northern Ireland" - were they talking to the same David O'Donnell I met in the green room?! :D

I thought you'd seen sense and come over to 'the dark side'.

But Hattenstone's famously a Man City fan. He's gonna get things wrong...

Indeed. It says that some people were knocked out in the first round.

Three words leap out from that article...

And in the evenings they gather back at the hotel for fun and games.

They will be placed in the public domain in due course (Once Carol has typed them up...)

perhaps the "sometime quietly spoken man liable to be found punching the air with his hand and his lip with his tooth whilst crying "f***sorryKai" " would have not read as well...

Ha great article. Especially the bits about all the contestants.
