Having achieved the highest score of the series and averaging just shy of a century, the possibility of an octorun for our current champion Stephen presently looks to be in full Bloom. But how will he fare against this week's third challenger?

Tune in with me on the wiki (finally!) or JR on the forum to find out.

At the end of today's show, it was mentioned that Stephen is the son of a former male contestant who lost his first game. Assuming they share a surname, this must be either Paul Bloom (who lost to Conrad Teixeira) or Julian Bloom from Series 18 in 1989. Can anyone shed any light on which one it might be?

It came up the other day. I think they said he was on recently, so it must be Paul Bloom.

We've had some good players these last few games. Several players who could have won a few have ended up losing to the next good player who comes along.

Cammy was lucky not to lose after failing to say "plus the other 8".

Alt 1st numbers (7+8)x50 - (7x(9-1))

Had 862 with an extra 30 seconds in the 2nd numbers. What was the nearest possible? RR said it was possible to get "a bit" nearer than 9 away.
75 x (25-2) - 1 / (100/50)

But didn't get 108 :-)
4th numbers I did 75/(8/8+4) + 100.

862 was the closest.

Was wondering if BIOFUELS was there in one of the later rounds....

I believe the audience conundrum solver was Hazel Drury, contestant from series 73 and now an Apterite.

Some pretty high-quality spots from Cammy today, but he needs to be more sure of them! MINERALS is not a word that you need to say "I'll try it" on.

To me it looked like he may have seen it at the last moment and didn't have time to check that all the letters were there.
