Spoilers for Tuesday September 22nd 2015 (S73 P57)
Thomas Carey has had a very impressive three games so far. Can he keep the momentum going with a fourth win today? In his way today is another apterite, Adam Curran. Which one of our own will come out victorious in this showdown?

Cracking game chaps. We should get a special between Adam and Ciaran McCarthy as century scoring losers
Definitely not Jamie McNeill or Schrodinger's Cat....

FLAPERON? Has come to the fore since MH370 but has it made its way into the dictionary yet?

Was this the first-ever double century game where neither player got a 9?
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Good shout, and I wanted it to be. Unfortunately not.Johnny Canuck wrote:Was this the first-ever double century game where neither player got a 9?
Or as Adam would say, unfortz.
It is, however, the first heat game which meets those criteria, but as there's only been six double-century heat games that isn't a great achievement.
Spending ten minutes doing this has made me appreciate Graeme even more.
Thanks once again, everyone. It's a shame we had to meet here as Adam deserved a lot more than the goodie bag. Obviously he should reapply, and some people have mentioned the idea of a special between him and Ciaran McCarthy (Curran vs Ciaran if you will) as people who lost with a century, which I would be all for. With a different conundrum Adam could easily have taken this, very well played to him. What an absolute legend. (Shame they cut out most of the banter about the Jim'll Paint It shirt).
EMULATOR and 849 in the penultimate two rounds were both very spottable, and had either of us got both of them that would have been game right there. Very tense ending. My arm was physically shaking from around OoW time.
It was painfully obvious watching back but yes, there were two occasions where I picked a final consonant where an E would have given a 9. Neither next vowel was an E, but it was still pretty silly, especially as picking for AEROPLANE won me a game shortly before filming. Speaking of aeroplanes, FLAPERON is still invalid. Mark Mills is annoyed because he spotted it in the audience. What a strange round.
That's enough unnecessary waffling. Thanks Adam. vgg, vwp, vul. ty.
cheers maus
