Alphabetic letter selections

You'd have to suspend the selection rules a little but if you limit the letters selection to successive letters of the alphabet, the most fruitful selection is MNOPQRSTU which yields NOSTRUM and RUMPOTS. No other such selection can provide a 7 letter word.
