Countdown is brilliant to everyone, even young ones. Junior Countdowners, gather here! And, sorry, 33 does not count as junior.

I'm 16 but I've been watching Countdown since I was about 18 months old if that counts :D

I'm 17 and probably do count as "junior" in the countdown world but I much prefer to be seen as a "young adult" instead :) . I auditioned for countdown when I was 10 but Damian didn't pass me, and so, for you to pass your audition at nearly the same age and win a magnificent eight games, makes you my idol

I've been busy with college commitments and moving house so it has been difficult to just have time to go on the Internet let only the prestigious forum! Also, my Internet connection was dodgy a few weeks ago and so it forced me to pull out of the COGST tourny at the quarter final stage :x .

Hi Kai,
I am 14 and became interested in countdown whilst you were on. I'm not as good as you (see my rubbish apterous rating) but I would like to play you. If we get a few more Under 16's we could make a tourny out of it.

Speaking of which, Oliver, thank you for playing Countdown with me!

I thought I was going to beat you in our second game, but you came up with a great numbers solution.

If you haven't appeared on Countdown already, are you going to? With the new host and hostess?

Before I finish this post, I would like to tell you all that the new host of Countdown just might be "a man" according to Kate Horton.

Who says there's going to be a hostess?

If the new presenter is a male, it makes sense to have a female co-host, doing Carols job. Plus also, I believe Jason would not like it, if the person who ended up doing Carols job was male (I think he said that in another thread).

What I've been told is that the new co-host of Countdown has already been confirmed and I'm almost sure they will not back down at the last minute.

So, this message is for Oliver. Please be prepared for a big change.

Oliver's the new co-host?

No, Gavin!

There will be a new co-host when Oliver applies to be on Countdown. They will be very good, but no Carol.

I wrote, "a big change" because Oliver has been used to seeing Carol all his life.

I think Craig Beevers should do Carol's job, then quickly run to dictionary corner and find longer words than the contestants and tell them how stupid they are.

Now we need to start a forum-wide campaign to seek out all under-16s on apterous and force them to join the tourney at gunpoint. Who's with me?

Awesome bump.

I've found 8 currently active junior apterites:

Kai Laddiman
Oliver Garner
Eoin Monaghan
Joseph Krol
Rhys Benjamin
James Nguyen
Robert Pajab
James Bradley

Anyone up for a tournament?

I read Carols as Carlos. I was wondering who the hell is Carlos, is there a Mexican version of countdown now? This is why ' were invented.

Good point. I'm going on the ProRanks listing of 17 and under. I meant to include Rob but somehow forgot, sorry.

I guess the only way to reach out to the antiforumites (Giles, Callum etc.) would be to put an announcement on apterous, but if we get 8 forumites, that wouldn't be needed.

Current interested list:
  • Kai Laddiman
  • Joseph Krol
  • Eoin Monaghan
  • James Nguyen

So, would we basically be playing a few of those people on that list, or everyone on that list? What exactly do you do in a tournament? Just play people?
By the way, I am not saying yes or no just yet.
