So, we head onto another new week of
Countdown, and hopefully Nick's voice is now better.
That's Hewer I mean of course, not our new champion, Nick Briggs, who was in fine voice in defeating Shaun Gill on Friday. Hopefully, he'll be planning on staying around for a bit.
Making her DC début this week is the actress and most definitely a
Loose Woman, Sherrie Hewson.

When the answers to the teatime teasers are too obscure (e.g. PELTRIES), I think it defeats the whole point of them in that they're meant to be gettable from the clue by a "casual viewer". It's OK once in a while but it seems to happen rather a lot. Discuss.

Couple of beaters available today - mine was WISTERIA in R1
There was also another FIVE in the PIECE round, but it only scores 4 of course.

That was mine too.
Not much else apart from INCITER in round 2 and JAWED in round 7.

Genuine pity that Nick had to run into Kevin - he was an exciting prospect for a non-Apterite.
