WE'RE BACK

Well, with the 2 specials and the Catsdown episode, it doesn't really feel like we've been away.

But, after the brilliant final, which saw Dan McColm become the latest series champion, we now start the search for the champion of Series 72.

So, after an amazing display in the final preliminary match nearly a month ago, we are hopefully going to be treated to another masterclass from the current champion, Andy Noden (or Andrew Keith on Apterous).

Jon Culshaw returns to DC after having last been on at the start of the last series.

Just in case it's news to anyone (IMO, a couple of people were a bit vague earlier and I was confused for a while), I wanted to confirm:

There is no CoC this series. It's moved to the start of Series 73.

Saying that EBONITE is another word for VULCANITE doesn't really help Susie!

Has this been confirmed anywhere? Not that this isn't a CoC we're in right now, but that we'll get one at the start of next series.

I guess it's technically not confirmed, but that date has been stated to be the scheduled date by at least one of the CoC's contestants. Not that this precludes the possibility of its being moved again.

Anyone notice this on the credits?

Yes, I did. It also had Shantelle under the "new" title of Junior Audience Co-Ordinator.

Something I noticed - had you picked for a final vowel in the DELRIOUSG round, you'd have got DELIRIOUS for 9. Didn't matter in the end because the next round was IMPLICATES

Need a new subtitler. "BOTHY" when DC said it was a six, no Y in the selection, and Rachel put up "-IE" on the board? Tut tut.
