First numbers.....

er, did I misread it or does (50-2) x 8 = 384 then subtract 2 work? (I'm writing an article and watching at the same time!)

Kevin

Looks like at least three of us saw this, and posted in three different threads. But mine was first. :D

Today's result confirms Debbi's place in the finals. Although she, and some others, already knew, it's the first time the rest of us can be certain that she's guaranteed a place in the top eight seeds. So, well done Debbi. :P

And I think today's shown that it would be advisable for the spoiler thread to be started before the game starts, rather than wait for Carol to miss an easy numbers round and then get four of us to start threads almost simultaneously. :)

The 'merge topic' mod option is a wonderful thing. :)

I was surprised Carol didn't get the first numbers too, I thought my solutions were simpler for the others too.

(75+8)*2*2 + 50 = 382
5*5*25 + (7*6) - 2 = 665
2*4*100 + 6*5 + 5 = 835

Hopefully that would also avoid "Spoilers" being misspelled in the rush to create the topic. ;)

The topic used to be started about a few minutes before the program starts, with a message basically saying to post spouilers, beaters etc here, but it got to a point where the thread was just opened with an actual beater etc.

I had a nice equaller in round 8 with PERIANAL. I also had NEMATODE/TAMPONED but both have previously been mentioned.

I also found it hilarious (a la Spreading the Word) that FUCOIDS was shown on the pencam, this time placed right at the top of the screen. Why? Because the word directly above it is FUCKWIT. I'm sure Damo told Susie to put the pencam on it for a laugh!

The champion today was really off the boil, I managed to beat him 126-23 today which is slightly embarrassing for both parties.

I think your idea of nice must differ from mine...

Did they really show the word FUCKWIT?

Agreed, have you applied for Carol's job?
If not, why not?

No. Read again.

I too was amazed that nobody in the studio got the first numbers game. I found it easy - you just start by making 400 and then adjust the numbers to take off the 18.

You're one to be speaking considering some of the words you came up with.... :-)

I've been trying to find where spoilers got spelt incorrectly, and I've finally found it - in the thread title. I wonder which of the four threads Ben decided to merge the other three into. Not mine I hope. :o

edited: and yes, I've found the culprit. It wasn't me. :P

My solution for second numbers was even simpler: (25-6)x7x5 = 665
