So, today's a special day for Countdown, as it celebrates it's 6,000th SHOW :!: :!: :!:    :o :o :o 8-) 8-) 8-) (according to the Wiki page anyway. :P )

Oh well, let's talk about the facts then, shall we. :)

Our current champion is Series 50 returner, Michael McDowell, who is now on 2 wins after disposing of our very own Paul Worsley last Thursday, and beating Series 10 quarter-finalist Elisabeth Jardine on Friday, but he'll need a few more wins under his belt to get in the end of series finals. At the moment, the 2 octochamps, Tricia and Mark, are the only people guaranteed to be in the finals. (Interestingly, in case you didn't know, the grand final of this series is scheduled to be broadcast on Christmas Eve!! (now there's a nice Xmas present for you all. ;) :) :D )

Back for her 3rd spell in Dictionary Corner this week, is Nick's former co-worker on The Apprentice, Margaret Mountford.

Join Andy for the recap later. ;) :) :D

That seemed to be the only beater today and not that hard to spot so don't know why Susie missed it.
Mind you I didn't even see the 8s such as ROMAINES and MORAINES in the HARMONISE/IES round.

Anyone else notice half of Dan McColm's face in the audience at the conundrum...... :?: :?: (Wonder what he was doing there :? )

RIDDANCE in round 1 and UNSETTLE in round 13.

2nd Numbers Alt.: ((50 + 5) x (8 / 4) x 6) + 9 = 669

Also INSTANT (beating DC).

STANNITE (an ore of tin) not in online OED, but in Chambers' and Collins' dead-tree dictionaries.
