Congratulations to those that made it out of their groups, commiserations to those that didn't. (What a lame opening statement.)

How accurate were we?

The colours on the right of the final group tables show how similar the results were to the real World Cup's group stage results (for the qualified teams only).
BLUE highlight shows perfection - the team qualified in the real World Cup too, and they did it in the same league position.
ORANGE highlight shows the team did indeed qualify in the real World Cup too but in the other position (e.g. 1st in apterous group, 2nd in real group).

Overall we got 10/16 of the teams correct, and 8 of those 10 were perfect.
Undoubtedly the apterous games match up better with Pro Ranks than the real World Cup games do with FIFA rankings.
Some notable differences no one could have predicted (Spain imploding) and some everyone could have expected (England underachieving).

Special shouts out to groups F and H which not only got the 1st and 2nd place teams and positions correct but were bang on right through 3rd and 4th too. Well done!

Draw for the Round of 16

Oliver should have 6 points, not 3.

I managed to keep up with tradition and ensured that England went out on penalties

Was a cracking match that Tom. Behind the whole of extra time and took it to penalties at the last. Unlucky!

Yeah, annoyingly I got that last numbers milliseconds after time, so could've killed it there and then, but hey-ho. Tradition must. :P
