Weird discrepancy between how easy the numbers were yesterday and how hard they are today.

I managed 517 but 514 is best. I did have a 3L the other day that you couldn't get within 10 even, so it could be worse.

I don't know, but bearing in mind that they haven't gone for 6 small or 4 large it's even more remarkable.

Overall, aren't about 94% of games solvable? Gut feel says that means it probably has happened before, but obviously not very often.

Until today, no game has had more than two numbers rounds where it was impossible to get 10 points.

Same for me, except I got 512 in R9, as I did (1 + 1) x 8 x 8 x 4.

No computers on Countdown. None at all. Never have been. Never will be.

I thought it was well established that Rachel gets told if a game is impossible. What she never gets fed is solutions to solvable games.

One or both of Tony and I was trying to be a bit subtle here. The computer didn't agree with Rachel pronouncing that 998 was impossible. Rachel may have thought it was impossible, but it was the computer alone that established it definitely.
