It's now December, so let's see what goodies are in store for us this month.
So, one week ago, we were debating if Gemma Church would have her finals place sealed, and instead we see that our current champion, Jonathan Liew, has sealed that place for himself following his 5 additional wins last week, taking him up to 7, meaning that we have a possible octochamp crowning today.
Unfortunately, his (comparatively) low score compared to the other octochamps, means that he's realistically likely to end the day either in 5th, 6th or 7th place on the leaderboard, and here's how:
5th Place: Win with a score greater than 135 points (and he'd get 4th place, with a score over 200).
6th Place: Win with any score below 134 points, or lose, but score more than 85 points.
7th Place: Lose with a score below 84 points.
Pam Ayres continues in DC today and tomorrow, before Gyles Brandreth returns for a short 3 day stint to finish the week off.
Graeme will be with you for the recap later.

And a treat today for us, that I don't think we knew, apterite Tricia Lockhart taking her chance to stop Jonathan.

Well, it was a bit up and down, but at the end of the day, I think Jonathan was a worthy octochamp, well done to him, particularly a great conundrum spot. With that Jonathan puts himself in the number 6 seed and a match with Glen Webb. Unlucky to Tricia, to push a champ like that to a crucial is no easy feat.

Yeah, I agree Jonathan was a well-deserving octochamp as he's been solid throughout his run. His six small skills have been excellent.
3rd numbers: (9 x 5 + 3) x (4 + 3) - 4 = 332
A few word beaters available too, such as SHITLOAD in round 2.

R1 with SEAMOUNT is one of the other three rounds with beaters.
3rd numbers 333 was fairly easy but an alt of ((4+3)x9+4)x5-3=332

1st Numbers Alt.: (((8 x 10) + 5 + 2) x 4) - 1 = 347

I don't think he was that good. Apart from his aptitude for the small numbers he was very inconsistent on the letters and the conundrum.
