So, we're entering birthday week here at c4cHQ, as Countdown will be celebrating its 31st birthday on Saturday, and there's a big party going on in Edinburgh, which you may have heard of. :P ;) :) :D  8-)

And what better way to celebrate than with another octochamp crowning ceremony. :D

And that could happen tomorrow, with Bradley Cates in hot form, and despite now not having the chance of getting 8 centuries on the spin, he has a very good chance of being crowned an octochamp tomorrow, even with Horace Horlicks in the way. (More on his appearance tomorrow.)

Dr. Phil Hammond carries on in DC for today and tomorrow, before Mark Foster takes over on Wednesday.

Join Graeme for the recap later. ;) :) :D  8-)

Two nice fishes in R10 and R11! Shame Bradley went for the wrong 7.

Were there any DC beaters in that game? Might have maxed it but there'll always be one little fucker that got away.

Not that I can see, only an Alt 7 where Dr Phil said "there is only one seven" (ESSAYED).

There was an X in the selection, so no, sadly.

Nope, I maxed it too, which I was well happy with, nice to do that on a CO-event week. 8-) 8-)

POUFIER in round 1, CAMPIER in round 5 and RANDIEST in round 13. (Not sure what that says about me...........  :P  )

I'm almost as bad. I also had POUFIER (didn't even see PROVIDE), RANDIEST and I saw CAMPIER but went for MIXTAPE instead. :)

The GROANIEST/ORANGIEST round is the classic one where if you want to play tricks on your opponent, you can sit back and relax in order to make them think you have a nine (knowing that eight is the max) to force them to declare an invalid word.
