Happy birthday Larsen! Have a great day :) Just so everyone knows I also sent a pm. Quality friend that I am!

Thank you, Ralph!

James, I appreciate your complement. Then again, if you would remember that I was born 3 months premature, you would definitely see how that is!

I'll be off soon to make this an even better year for me! Again, thank you all for your good wishes.

Happy Birthday, Jason! :D

And, no, Matt, I haven't sent a PM.
I found it rather pleasant to see a raft of messages on here on my birthday last year, and I'm sure that most others feel the same, however cynical they might try to appear! ;)

I want to thank Julie for being the sweetest lady, and taking my mind off of Sue berating everyone else. Birthdays should be happy, and there are no prepositions about it.

Nobody deserves to be banned, I know I have supporters here, and the love should spread all around this forum!

I don't mean to be so naive, but once again I mean to show how positive I am.

Yeah, it's a fair cop JL - I shall reduce my suberating and wish you a happy rest of your birthday week x

For the record, this thread sucks because it's full of people saying happy birthday just so everyone can see how kind and thoughtful they are, when really if they actually cared about the person in question they'd send a PM - more personal, more meaningful, more proper, not just for show. This thread is pretty much akin to that person who does the washing up for everyone at a family Christmas get together but then feels the need to go around and tell every single person that they've done the washing up just to make sure they get credit for it.[/i]
Lol. While I think your persecution of this thread is a bit unfair, I completely understand your reasoning with the latter example. Those sort of people irritate the hell out of me too.

Me and RB agree on something other than thumbsticks shocker.
Glad you're with me. If you're going to give you HAVE to give graciously or it means absolutely fuck all.
When a forum message applies completely wholly to just one single person, it should be a PM not a forum message. If it's not a PM, there are hidden psychological reasons.
Julie T wrote:I found it rather pleasant to see a raft of messages on here on my birthday last year, and I'm sure that most others feel the same, however cynical they might try to appear! ;)
Well done on quite deliberately misinterpreting me. My whole point is that everybody loves being birthday-congratulated, but when the peoples congratulating them actually give a fuck and MEAN it it's ten times nicer. I'm rooting for PMs rather than forum messages, not saying we should be ignoring peoples birthdays altogether, that's ridiculous.

As the thread is clearled marked "Birthdays", would it not be easy to avoid it by those who do not approve?

IAWTP :D

I think that Ralph's point has been made on this thread before, but it bears repeating.

Let's hope that those who like the thread continue posting here, and those who prefer sending PMs continue to do so, and stop sniping at others' choices!

IMHO, if you want to wish someone a Happy Birthday, or thanks for same, then this is the thread to do it, unless you prefer to do PMs of course. Please leave sniping and silly in jokes to trip people up (if you really must do them) to other threads.

Jason Larsen is a great bloke, and presumably wouldn't say so, but it can't be very pleasant to have this sort of argument, however mild, going on around someone's birthday greetings.

I didn't trip you up, Misty (Miss-T, geddit?). That would be abuse, and I don't abuse women.
Anyway, Chairman Jon liked the in-joke, so if I feel they are worth doing for a laugh I will continue to do them. Thanks for the motherly advice though.
Oh, and Happy Birthday! (whenever yours is).

The only picture I can paint is that he got so addicted to posting here, it was having a detrimental effect on the other things he needed to do in life. So he asked a moderator to switch his posting rights off, much in the same way as happens when you are banned.

Like any addiction, the only way out is to abstain completely. Just my thought though.

It did mean that their names were spelt correctly, and ages were right (I made a mistake and had to edit it out once).

Anyway, I did use pretty colours and large font, so nya nya nee nya nya! ;)
