Jason, you can find the Birthdays near the bottom of the front page of this site - if you do that yesterday then you can be the only person to wish Ray Folwell a Happy Birthday.

My dad & I saw Shaun Williamson at Newport Pagnell services on the way up to Leeds to film my Countdown heats. He was buying a newspaper and a chocolate bar. I said "all right" to him. He said "all right mate" to me.

Shaun Williamson is playing Fletcher in a stage adaptation of the sitcom Porridge that's about to tour the UK; a chum of mine is playing Mr Barrowclough and apparently, to use Ben Hunter's phrase, Shaun is "sound as a pound".

This is consistent with my (tiny) anecdotal evidence.

He's sound as a pound, and twice as round
He's Shaun, but not shorn of kindness and fun
He's not God's son, he's William's son
But no hell, just heavens
for dear Barry Evans.

Jason Larsen wrote:Sue, have you seen American Idol, and do you know who Randy Jackson is?

I wouldn't dream of watching American Idol, Jason. Randy Jackson I assume to be Michael Jackson's little brother...and my interest in any of the Jacksons doesn't extend much beyond, well, disinterest.

Not sure how we got onto this tack, because my original comment was simply amusment at your response to Jason C saying he was going 'dog racing' being that you asked him what sort of dog he had.

Sue, Randy Jackson is no relation to Michael.

He calls every contestant he is partial to on American Idol his "dawg."

Well, no worry as I won't be watching. And we'll leave it that Jason Cullen would have gone dog racing without a dog of his own in tow.

Because it isn't Susie's birthday, and MM despises this thread and probably won't look (even though he will) ?

I had rather assumed, that since the website says that it is Matt's birthday, you were joking. Maybe, Susie, being a refined lady, doesn't want her increasing age to be acknowledged - methought.

I do grow rather weary of some people's rather puerile attitude of "to be true forumites, you must read every single post in every single thread, in order to not be caught out by in-jokes".

I was joking. Matt is a jokey guy who is up for a bit of teasing, so I announced that we weren't to wish him a Happy Birthday today, because he has mentioned in this thread that he doesn't like this thread.

If we started listing the ways we make each other weary on here, that would be all we'd be posting. Nobody said you had to read every post, or join any kind of club. In fact the Susie thing is from the old Yahoo! group, so even if you did that wouldn't have made any difference.

Of course I looked. You knew I wouldn't be able to resist it, damn you intrigue.

For the record, this thread sucks because it's full of people saying happy birthday just so everyone can see how kind and thoughtful they are, when really if they actually cared about the person in question they'd send a PM - more personal, more meaningful, more proper, not just for show. This thread is pretty much akin to that person who does the washing up for everyone at a family Christmas get together but then feels the need to go around and tell every single person that they've done the washing up just to make sure they get credit for it.

Oh, and PM count? None.* You bastards. ;) Beautiful day here... time to go and enjoy myself...
