Are invites limited to finalists and former contestants, or will random forumites in the audience who haven't (yet) been on the show be invited to the piss-up too? If having any sort of tenuous connection to the show helps, I had an audition once (about 6 or 7 years ago) and so did my 82-year-old mum (last year). Oh, and you (Damian) replied to an email I sent you on October 31st, 2002, so we're practically best mates.

Invites to the drinks? Its contestants and a guest each. If you make yourself known Phil, i am sure you can slip in through the back door on the quiet.

Hey! Dibs on a drunk Kirky, so that I can fulfil my destiny!
Seriously, though, hope Ben and I can slip in too, before we have to head back.
Don't mind driving late. Sober, though, boo hoo.

Yeah, it's a little club I know in Otley.
Anyway, attempting to restore the tone: who's actually staying over at the hotel on Wednesday night? I booked myself a room as I was anticipating getting totally slarmied with you guys after the recording and don't want to be worrying about driving later, but presumably some of you besides Julie and Ben will be travelling home that night. I know you, Kirk, have already mentioned that you're working next day, but are you leaving after Damian's drinky-poos or are you staying in Leeds and getting up early in the morning? Neil? Charlie? Sid? Junaid? If I'm still
compos mentis when I get back to the hotel it'd be nice to have some drinking buddies around.

I paid £59 for a non-refundable booking (normal rate £79).
Edit: just checked with Expedia and that rate is no longer available - the cheapest is £69.

They are not my drinky-poos Phil, its what we always do for the winning finalist and end of series. ITV are the hosts.

So, presuming you don't need them...

Haha. Very good. Again a pre-C4C pic, prob 9 months old or so, i.e. before I met Phil. Maybe it was a sign?
On a side note, perhaps a question for Damian - it
IS cool to pass my tickets on to another C4C member, right?
Though I will throw Nick an e-mail now to let him know I sadly can't make it.

I'm staying in the hotel Wednesday night, as are my parents- so I may or may not meet up for drinks depending on what their plans are, and whether I need to be up early for a lift back to Uni. It may also depend on my performance on the show...

My plans are all out of whack right now as my ride has bailed, but I'm hoping to get a lift off a relative and in return am promising a ticket for a fine display of Countdown. So please don't play shit, Kirk.
I'm gonna have to do my usual disappearing act as soon as the final is completed because (a) I have to go to Swansea early the next morning and (b) I plan to nick the RW memorial trophy and make a quick getaway.
Obviously the after party will majorly suck in my absence but I urge you to make the best of it.

I'm not staying on the Wednesday night as I'll be teaching the next day. I will be staying on the Monday night and Tuesday night though. Sid and Charlie are sleeping in my room currently, one of them on the sofabed, one on the floor. This time I've asked for a twin room, not a double, so we should be OK bed wise, and Charlie/Sid may have a sofabed instead of a floor.

No doubt I've missed a thread somewhere and I know this'll sound really stupid, but where are the new studios for the show?
Good luck to all taking part, if I'd have known before that this was the last recording I might have even considered it as I can get from my house to the studios door to door in about 45 minutes - prob no tickets left now.
