I think people used to be scared of this new technology breaking aeroplanes and maybe they just left the rules in place on some airlines.

No, you had a bad cold. I used to think the same as you, until one year I really did have the flu. It's another ball game altogether - I could actually understand how people could die of it. I now know I've only had flu once in my life and I never want to have it again.Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:41 am Flu Jabs.
Ive been having annual flu jabs since before covid and within 4 weeks I have always got the flu
The last couple of flights I've been on they've also asked you to alert the crew if your electronic device starts to emit smoke. I wonder what people used to do? About as likely as a conflagration in a petrol station from someone using a phone while filling their car.

From what I feel like is a bird's eye view, someone who at this point I feel like we treat now as Voldemort.Marc Meakin wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:48 pmI'd forgotten who started this threadGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:25 pmThe thread-starter can change it, but as people who follow deaths will know, that's now impossible. I always thought that nobody actually pays for their own spa days unless its a group thing.Fiona T wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 4:24 pm Spa days. Pay £150 to visit a swimming pool you can't actually swim in and sit around in a dressing gown chatting to your mates. People love them so perhaps I'm missing something. Doing one next week so will see if I can be persuaded but strongly suspect it will confirm my views!
It's certainly not fun to watch but unlike other sports (I'm talking about equestrian sports and to a lesser extent cycling ) at least its a level playing fieldGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 11:39 am I mean, swimming is a joke activity anyway, but surely breast stroke is pretty mental too.
Although I got most of my Olympic coverage from Eurosport ,those pieces the BBC did on all of our elite athletes before their events on repeat every day , was annoying and it would seem jinxing those athletes in most casesGavin Chipper wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 4:56 pm The live stories on the BBC news website. Generally just a load of incoherent stuff stuck together. I'll wait for you to write a proper article on it, thanks.
