Wanted: Awesome Dudes

Any recaps from older series should be posted here. This forum is unlikely to contain spoilers, but recaps may contain "forward references" if they are written much later, so approach with caution.

I just checked Ben's posts and I don't see the 21st Feb recap anywhere :!:  :o
I assume you're getting round to that, Ben, since you've just done the 22nd Feb one. :D

WAGER is in as both noun and verb, so although WAGERED is not mentioned explicitly the NODE accepts that as a regular form.

I've heard it was the best of times. And also the worst of times. It's funny like that.

Since Series 47 is now complete, we have a record of every game featuring a 15 round octochamp, and this page is therefore complete :) Most interestingly (to me), Chris Wills' then-record score of 875 is somewhat put into perspective by the discovery that he had (and still has) the highest max ever available to an octochamp, 1085, which is only 15 points short of the highest available to anyone. By contrast Craig Beevers scored 907 with a max of 985, the 11th lowest of any octochamp.

Wicked, congratulations all.

Can we do % of maxes? On letters and numbers separately?

I think Kai did partial figures on this, he might feel like updating them. Would be nice to automate it a bit more but I've had enough of processing Countdown recaps for now.

Incidentally, I've just extended http://www.apterous.org/cdb/octomax.php to show the lowest available possible octochamp max. Turns out the record was set only a few months ago. Hard luck Bill!

He had the same percentage as you. Really puts things into perspective.

orly?

Actually I think I know what you mean. I'll have a stab at it. Although I mainly trial out stuff on the Series 59 octochamps' data, I could branch out a bit.

Would you like me to re-recap the Series 48 grand final (and maybe some others) if you're referring to those that still link to TCP?

Probably not actually the right place for this, but it seemed fitting enough: The cdb page for series stats seems to be off by one -- i.e. the people for series 48 show up in the row for series 49, etc. I didn't feel like going all the way down to see where the first error is though.

Oh that page has been junk for literally years, I don't know if I'll ever get around to fixing it.
