Spoilers For Tuesday September 21st 2010

Post by James Robinson »

Tuesday has reached us and Eoin has reached half-octochampdom, surely heading for octochampdom on Friday. Nothing can stand in his way, can it :?:

Interestingly, if Eoin does become octochamp on Friday, and if Peter Godwin had become an octochamp a few weeks ago, we would have had 4 consecutive octochamps, the first time ever in the show's history. 8-) As it is, we'll just have to hope for the first back-to-back octos since Junaid and Kai 4 series ago.

It's Dinos' turn to recap today, so I'll see you later. ;) :) :D

Wow, I actually found today's episode quite uncomfortable to watch. Nice performance again Eoin, but why on earth did you feel the need to buzz so quickly?!

Aww, felt really bad for Clive? there, seemed like he lost interest half way through. Like Dave Spikey in DC. Well done Eoin, TOMBONOTY or whatever it was you declared was fantastic

Yeah, again I thought this buzz in early was a bit dodgy. And despite me enjoying watching good play and saying how much I like to see someone dominate, I did feel a bit of sympathy for Clive with him finishing on just 16 points but then again they are playing the same game. But well played, excellent again!

Yeah you could just see it in his face. My housemates were laughing at how bad the beating was suggesting at various points that Clive should get up and walk out, declare OX for 2 and then say to Rachel "fuck it, you can choose the letters this time".

Two points.

a) Is 16 the lowest ever score in the 15 round era.
b) Why did no one correct Jeff when he called the audience member that solved the conundrum a women?

Yeah I found this pretty painful to watch as well, although he did have quite a few opportunities to score a bit more. Can't imagine Eoin would have felt entirely comfortable either. Nonetheless, very well played again.

Pretty uncomfortable for me, Clive was really nervous at the start. Again, I did think I had the conundrum and after going to a school quiz using buzzers I was used to having to press quickly to answer and I was very nervous so pressed quickly, I felt bad for Clive and didn't enjoy that show particularly, but thanks anyway.

ADUMBRATE, duh.

Haven't seen any of these shows but it sounds like Eoin did the right thing. It might be uncomfortable to beat someone by a huge margin but it's outright patronizing to ease off against a weak opponent, and even our Lord and Saviour Julian Fell agreed to that.

According to my calc, if Eoin becomes an octochamp, he'll have 878.4 points.

Did you choose vvvc to try and spell Eoin? Also wp, and I thought the DC guest was good. 8-)

I knew I wasn't the best at conundrums, but it appears my incorrect answers are so wide of the mark they get used as scrambles which defeat both players. :-)

Well done on another century, Eoin.

Like I said in chat, I copied it off David O'Donnell when he was on, he was my favourite player. Then realised I could spell my name and stuck with it.

I thought the challenger yesterday looked like Dave Spikey - wonder if that was a fix? You gotta stop buzzing instantly Eoin - that was the only cringeworthy point for me.

I don't often listen to the celebrity spot, but I did today. Did he say that the guy was driving down the M6, and he was awarded damages of $100k? Whatever. It's not true.
