Post by Jojo Apollo »

Good to see a C of C series for this show, great to see some of the past champs again also. :D

Here is the first episode on iplayer for those that missed it (well worth watching):

I was grumpy as there were two Irish lasses in my living room at the same time, so I therefore couldn't hear the questions for them yakking. Scores were pretty impressive though.

As a spud-muncher yourself, surely you understand the inevitable outcome of having two Irish ladies in a room together? :)

Actually, sometimes racism is based on a stereotype that's fairly near the truth.

Chris looked quite unhealthy. That was sad to see. Sopilzes: If he couldn't win, would have liked Mr. Chase to have won, not that tit who was showing off about getting a job as a fucking librarian.

Yes Chris sadly is getting old, and getting bigger, he admitted being a lazy sod in his videotape bit but he is just amazing. His questions on trains were just insane and it was funny watching him reel off all this shit about them!

Why was it that Shaun got all his questions right in round one but only amasses 17 but the smug git, sorry contestant no1, managed 19 I think that question length must be inconsistant especially when you consider the chap that got 23 yesterday.

Prime example - question about Frasier going back to some high school reunion, question was basically what was the name of the school, but in the middle was the completely unnecessary bit about "which Frasier didn't want to attend due to thinking he was cursed". Unnecessary and unfair, especially as they aren't allowed to interrupt (and was that always the case on Mastermind?).

It's said that the questions are balanced for length, could this just be perception from a couple of long ones?

Yeah, the question length does seem inconsistent, you often see contestants with some type of Pop Music specialist subject, getting asked more questions.

I'm assuming record holder and egghead Kevin Ashman will be on tonight's episode, as its the final heat, and I've not seen him yet.

He'll be off twirling his tache somewhere.

He does still have a tache doesn't he?

He shaved it off a few years ago, it hasn't been seen since, I think.

Btw here are all the episodes from the C of C series including the excellent final:
