Just a silly little game to try and encourage avatarism.

Rate the person who posted last in this topic on their avatar. Score it out of 10, and maybe give a reason.

I like Kai's avatar, because it shows who he is, is colourful, demonstrates creativity, and beats like the hearts of the girls he will possibly be fighting off later in life. I also liked his previous one with the two smileys which only lasted about 2 days.

Interesting that some people have too many good ideas for avatars, while others don't bother at all. I give it a 9.

Edit: I've also just noticed that it says his name, which I had never realized until examining it more for this! Bonus point for hidden/subliminal content.

Derek's avatar scares me. He should replace it with one of a raccoon.

Edit: Oh, I have to give it a score. Well I'll start with 5, and then all future ratings can be relative to that.

I like Michael's avatar. It's quite a professional-looking photo (nice colour temperature and balance, etc.) and well-posed too. An enterprising creature, no doubt - I wonder how much it was paid to model for that shot. :D

EDIT: Forgot to score it! 8/10 I reckon.

Alec's is definitely creative, on-topic and very well put-together so it can't be anything other than a 9/10. Here's hoping it isn't the start of a raft of imitators though...says the guy shamelessly ripping off Jim Bentley

Srsly though, I like it because of the homage to the Master (pbuh), but I do like the smiley face. 7/10.

(Not that Jason isn't humerous when he puts his mind to it)

Raccoons may be described as polygynous or promiscuous. Their sexual behaviour varies depending on the number of males and females in a given area at a given time, and the synchronicity of oestrus in the females: when the oestrus of all females in a surrounding area is synchronized, males tend to have much shorter consortships, and subordinate males are able to mate with females they would not normally be able to reach. The reproductive success of males depends on their ability to find and mate with females. In general, heavier males gain greater access to females during the mating season. A group of males can combine territories for access to more females within this enlarged area. Three or four males may combine territories to gain access to more females; within a male group the heaviest, most dominant male carries out 50 - 60% of the matings. A female may consort with only one male, for a period of one to three days, if her oestrus period is short, but more (as many as four) if she has a longer period of oestrus. Copulation may last up to about an hour

An hour? Up to three days? D'you know - I think he's on to something... ;)

Beautifully illustrated, btw! :)

This has nothing to do with Alec (but nice avatar anyway Alec).

Anyway .... Yesterday I went to see James Cameron's new movie Avatar at the Imax theatre in the National Film and Media Museum in Bradford. It was a special Imax 3D version projected onto a giant 48' x 65' screen. It's a decent enough film anyway, but the experience of watching it in Imax 3D was mindblowing. If you get a chance to see it in Imax, it will be 3 hours of your time well spent.

Andy's avatar, taken on a recent fancy dress night when he fulfilled his dream of being a young bearded Andy Wilson isn't as cool as the shocked picture of himself he used to use, but due to it's very subtle use of swearing (whether as an invitation to admirers or an expletive against said Andy) it's not the worst. 7/10

I also like Kai's avatar, but I'm too stupid to be able to spot subliminal content without it being spelled out for me. I tried several different pictures for my avatar just now, but they were all too wide for the pixel limit thingy. So I had to settle for an iChat icon, which is a placeholder for the time being seeing as it's small enough. One hidden point I have noticed about Kai's general avatar area is that his total number of posts is now very close to his year of birth (which I just looked up on the wiki).
