Countdown Recap: Friday 13 March 1998
Series 38, Preliminary round
Dictionary: ?

RW: Richard Whiteley
CV: Carol Voderman

RW makes the point of it being Friday the 13th.
Apparantly there will be four this year! (RW corrected it to three in the next show.)
CV: "Did you have an accident last Friday 13th?"
RW stays schtum on this remark and says MN has something to say on the subject.

C1: Andrew Ford, dislodged Mona Mahoney on one win, getting to be a habit of people winning one win and losing the next game. From Burnham-on-Sea. A whiz at the numbers. Is a concrete pourer, he was a Tax Advisor.

C2: Bill Richardson, born and bred in Cumbria but lives in Coldgate (?) in Penarth with wife and duaghter. 61, now retired having spent most of his life working for the Ministry of Defence. Enjoys Fell Walking and Badminton. His ambition to live long enough to withdraw his pension. Has a passion for wine. RW quips: "Bord-eaux his own company!"

DC: Richard Stilgoe and Mark Nyman. RS ask MN what the fear of Friday the 13th is. MN confirms the word for fear of the number 13, but not Friday the 13th, TRISKAIDECAPHOBIA.
