Hello!
Okay, so I've entered myself for the Birmingham half marathon on October 11th. I hope it's a stepping stone to reaching my goal of completing a first marathon within the next year. Except, up until a few months ago I'd never done any serious running. Or anything physically demanding. Or anything useful. Ever. I was unable to run 5 minutes without a break. However, after a few months of hard training I think I'm almost ready.
I'm using this event to raise money for charity; please see http://www.justgiving.com/runnerbeen for more details about my cause, as well as links to my running blog and Facebook group.
I would be eternally grateful for any support you fine people can offer; feel free to give advice (I know there are some serious runners here), stories and basically take the piss. Read the blog. Join the group. Most importantly, please donate!
Thanks for reading. Much love,
Junaid
