Instinct

Post by Eoin Monaghan »

What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear a countdown contestant. (Words they got on the show).

e.g

When I hear David O'Donnell I think of KATIPO or Richard Priest I think of MIRADOR. I don't know why but they just spring to mind.
What about you guys?

Brilliant clip - It touched me on a few levels - Ian nearly reducing a child to tears like 'competitive Dad', a great joke at the expense of the singing prowess of Des The Daft, Bradley's early onset of geekism displayed in his total lack of interest in music, and a shirt that suggests Ian had just got back from his holidays and all his proper shirts were dirty. Thank you. I enjoyed that!

I've never been closer to a heart attack than in that clip, that really isn't an exaggeration. Not good with nerves...I'm just slightly disappointed that I didn't do the Hansfordesque arms in the air and cheering that I really wanted to do...

As for my shirts, I really struggle to part with more than about a tenner for a shirt, so I'm restricted to black ones in the sale, or dodgy ones like this. In the sale.

Did they specially wire up the buzzers in that round so that when a contestant pressed it their opponent got an electric shock? The kid's hand jumps about two foot in the air!

What you couldn't see was me kicking sideways as I hit the buzzer as some sort of insurance...

Thanks for this but where is your logic? This must mean all men are great, all darts players are great and as for trainspotters - well, we rock.

Kirk, you took offense to one of my complements quite a while back and I was surprised by that!

But, I'll just chalk that up to you having a bad night.

I like you. I think you're a nice guy.

I didn't take offence but you didn't answer my question. Nor did you listen to the numerous people, including Mr Phil Reynolds on how to spell "compliments".

Kirk, I've got a certain fondness for teachers because they help kids grow. If kids don't grow, they don't learn anything!

Now, I feel good that I paid you a "compliment," and it was "complements" of me.

Now, every time you try to teach the Pythagorean Theorem and one of your students becomes unruly, you will think of me instead of sending them to the headmaster's office because look at how much you've contributed to this forum!

You were Series 60's champion, for goodness sake!
