I was wondering when this was broadcast because The Countdown Page says it was 23rd May 1997. Whereas, the Countdown Wiki says it was on 7th May 1997.
Which one is correct?

Re: 2000th Episode
After looking into this a bit more.
On the countdown page, the Broadcast times page lists it as 23rd May 1997, under special programmes. But the Series 35 page lists it as the 7th May 1997.
So I'm guessing that the Broadcast times page has a mistake on it

Re: 2000th Episode
You (kind of) guess incorrectly... The programme broadcast on the 23rd was a special one to celebrate 2,000 editions of the show (and didn't actually include a game of Countdown). It was aired after the regular show that day (actually the 2,012th edition, although Richard told us it was the 1,999th at the time). The 2,000th edition of the show was broadcast on the 7th. Did that all make sense??Thomas Wood wrote:So I'm guessing that the Broadcast times page has a mistake on it

Yeah, thanks Mike. So the special on the 23rd was kind of like the 3000th Countdown tribute programme? (A tribute to Countdown: 3000 and Counting)Mike Brown wrote:You (kind of) guess incorrectly...
