I am officially dancing around the room in a state of semi-undress. (In other words, I've taken off my socks)

Excellent! I'm going out in a bit but this means that when I get back, I'll be able to play Drunken Hyper Unlimited and try to get SLEEPLESSNESSES or something equally silly. Actually, there must be new hypothetical longest words for Unlimited and Hyper Unlimited now, I wonder how long they are?

Shurely midnight tonight would be 11/7/09 12:00 am?

It's up!

Transition seems to have gone smoothly. I've also added Hypertouchdown to win the masochist vote.

Not it's not! AM stands for ante meridien, and midnight is neither ante nor post. The same goes for midday. Convention of recent times has been to use 12am/pm, but that doesn't make it right.

That would presumably mean that 12pm is midday, which is clearly wrong.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that I said "midnight tonight", which is pretty hard to interpret as the midnight which already passed.

Gah this whole thing is a crock of scheiße :P My own mother decided to argue recently that Sky had fooled her into thinking she could phone to renew at a time she couldn't, based on the logic that it was still Saturday at 12:00:01... and that logically the phone line was closed :P Remarkable what people will believe. As far as midnight being equivalent to 12 am, your point is correct, but common usage makes it rather a small thing to be standing up to I think.

Not very happy with midnight on Apterous as I started the daily duel at 11.54pm last night and it rejected me at 1201am
as the new duel started

That I didn't know that daily duels have to be FINISHED by midnight

I guess it's fairly obvious to me that you need to finish by the time the results are published and you can read everyone else's games, but maybe it should give you some kind of warning at the time.

Common usage makes me more inclined to stand up to it. Common usage is to blame for the likes of Big Brother, Manchester United, organised religion and Michael Portillo.

And when I start paying attention to proclamations of the US Government, then maybe I'll have bigger things to worry about anyway...

Ian Volante: Sticking it to the man, one temporal designator at a time.

I'd definitely watch the TV series of that.

Just on the off chance that you were even slightly offended Marc, for the record it's nothing personal.
I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating it is when you spend so many hours creating the help section and nobody reads it (not even to check an issue before complaining).
It's become pretty out of date with all the new features Charlie's popped in over the last couple of months, and it's hard to bring myself to spend all the time going through it when no one cares :(

None taken Matt, I am the typical bloke who only reads a map after I get lost and only reads the instructions from IKEA only after I turned a chest of drawers into a bookcase
