Aptobash III: Have Your Say

Post by Charlie Reams »

Aptobash III will be some time soon. In the spirit of democracy (and laziness), I'm leaving it to you, the players, to vote for which format you'd like to play. In the event of a tie, I'll decide. You can vote for as many as you like, so please tick anything you'd be happy with, as well as your out-right favourite.

Sure, we'll need a topic on here for people to register, so I'll delegate that to you. I'll let you know when I decide which weekend to run the tournament, it'll probably be late April or May.

I would be grateful if this tournament could be held during a morning/afternoon slot, because assuming I will still be at Dominos then, I wouldn't be able to play otherwise, except if it were on Sunday which is far more likely. :) Personal preference would be a standard 15; a speed wouldn't bother me so long as it wasn't blitz.

Anything with rounds of 30 seconds will last forever and ever and ever and ever.

Eh? A regular 15-round game doesn't take much longer than 10 minutes, maybe 15 minutes if you're chatting between rounds. Shouldn't be a problem really, should it?

Also I've learnt a lot about running a tournament now, and there won't be any more waiting around between rounds while the stragglers play.

Note Charlie only said '15 rounds'. He said nothing about it being a standard 15 rounder... ;)

I take a liberal interpretation of the word "soon".
