1st numbers alternative: ((6 x 75) - (8 + 1)) x 2

Another alternative:

75 - 2 = 73
73 x (8+3+1) = 876
876 + 6 = 882

I had CLEATING in that round, although I think maybe it's not specified as a verb, just CLEATED as an adjective. I'm surprised they missed all the -ING words like ELATING.

I don't know, but you should be able to find out if you watch it on Channel 4 + 1 :).
