This is a strange coincidence: compare this game and the next one. Same players, same score and the exact same cast! What are the chances?!

Round five of this game is a strong contender for the best round where it's easy to get one away, but hard to get it spot on.
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

Carol's way was bizarre but cool. I'd have done 75+50+10+10-(100/25), much more straightforward.

Ha we played along with this round in the pub today on Simon's internet phone and I got it Jim's method. I also thought it was hard and bet on both contestants only getting 140 which they did. To be fair I'm not sure I did it in 30 seconds as we don't time, we just scroll through games spending some time on selections trying to hit maximums.

On the grounds that it qualifies as both brag AND scrag, I'm putting it here- http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=27737 -falling foul of the ODE/CSW differences 3 rounds out of 4 (MODDERS* is the only one that's completely bad), I then put in the final 6 rounds of my dreams. Ho hum.

I dunno. :) I thought it noteworthy but couldn't think of any other existing thread in which to post it. In hindsight, it wouldn't have been out of place in the 'comebacks' thread.

Check Round 16, where I apparently beat the max.

The score isn't great because it was my first time playing Hyper Numbers...

Amazing game this. Deliberately dropped 20 points to make Jimmy happy on audition eve. Knew LEXONERD^ wasn't in, had MINTIER but went for MINUTER^ cos I'd just played MINUTEST (incredible omission) and had TEAMING but played MINUTE for the same reason. I also only picked S in round 14 to make FRUITGELS :P

Strange indeed that i play my most solid game of the night after half a dozen beers, but earlier on when totally sober i was complete pants. Sometimes even the most common words elude me, then i can pull something pretty obscure out of the hat moments later. Does anyone else suffer from terrible inconsistency or lack of concentration?

It happens to me if I play too much. If I take a few days off then I'm normally much more consistent when I get back.

The conundrum times are local times, so you can't lag against that. Times like Damian's are caused by some other bug which sometimes makes the clock run slow, which I have been chasing for a while.

This was a 15 Rounder game, but it is strangely marked down as a Custom game:http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=25484 the score became tied after the 15th round and it took five tiebreak conundrums to separate us, as we didn't get any of the previous four tiebreak conundrums.

Tends to only happen when i play at work - on my break times of course. The lag is horrible and often i get just 6 or 7 letters on screen, only to find that the bot has already answered Almost impossible to beat Prime at a game in this situation. I tend to get the first 2 rnds okay, then it slows up bigtime and eventually freezes altogether. When i answer straight away, it registers on the clock as anything between 5 and 10 secs, even though i've only just got the 9 letters up on screen.

Interesting round 9. I'm pretty sure it is possible, although the computer says you can't get within 10. Either they should both get a point for maxing (with nothing) or the max for the whole game should be 19, not 20. Very very slight bug I suppose.
