Wow, what a game! Surely this has to be one of the best series performances ever from the latest xicount, Kirk Bevins! Absolutely destroyed pretty much all his opponents!

But I was surprised that 88 year old Bill with the white stick made it all the way to the final, but hey, Countdown has no age barriers.

2nd numbers alt: ((50-3)x5x100+75)/25 = 943 (I think)

This was a great game and Kirk was a great sport and gracious winner, and the whole team really worked hard to make me feel good about it afterwards. That DEUTERONS spot of mine in R1 really knocked the wind out of my sails and I just never felt that I could close that 18 points gap.

Actually I didnt get it within the time. Tried going via 3 x 100 but it didnt work.

I have nothing against Kirk, but I can't see how it can be a good thing that everyone is wishing for an incredibly one-sided final? Surely a tight contest that could go either way (a la Mubeen-Reams last time) is more watchable?
Granted, it is entertaining to see players get amazingly long words. But both players getting nice 7's every round (not necessarily obvious words) is arguably better from an armchair fan's point of view than one player getting obscure 8's and running away with it. Though I'm sure you'll all correct me.

I know it's different playing at home, but I was so close to beating Kirk. I spotted DEUTERONS in Round 1, and Round 4, Round 7 and Round 12, but missed it in the Conundrum. (What were we saying about the shuffling?)

PS - I thought it was Amey Deshpande in the quarter-final?

I thought it was a lovely touch when Richard Brittain made a cameo appearance at the end to present Kirk with the trophy. Still, no need for the tears, guys. That was slightly OTT.

Yeah, I was confused as well. First I thought it was the hidden thread that Charlie reveals after everyone else has seen the final, but then I came to the conclusion that it is just a spoof thread from before the final had even taken place.
