Full recap is here, but for anyone who can't get to the old yahoo group, the relevant extract is:
Round 14: 75 25 8 4 2 3 : Target : 949
C1: 950 : ( 8 + 4 ) x ( 25 x 2 )
C2: 950 : ( 8 + 4 ) x ( 25 x 2 )
CV: 949 : ( 75 + 2 ) x ( 8 + 4 ) + 25
Max. 10 (122)
Score : 76-93
The C1 and C2 calculations give here are obviously wrong. Does anyone have a record of what they really were? My records confirm that they both did indeed score 7 with a declaration of 950. Also, I got 950 with (8 x 2 + 3) x (75 - 25)
The game was in fact Steve Baines' final preliminary match.

No idea, but the most similar-ish looking I can see at a glance is ((8+4)*3+2)*25. But even that is still quite a large miskeying, you'd expect there just to be one number/sign/bracket in the wrong place... I'll keep looking! This is cool, it's like a puzzle!
Edit: Actually after a little more thought (8+4) * 75 + (25 * 2) looks like it might be the best bet.

Just checked my notes for that game and can confirm that your suspicions are correct, Jon.Howard Somerset wrote:Looks good. Thanks, JonJon Corby wrote:Actually after a little more thought (8+4) * 75 + (25 * 2) looks like it might be the best bet.
