And it was. Angus had 30 years to brush up on his numbers but still lost to two suboptimal numbers performances from his opponent! Unlucky to come across yet another high quality opponent but Brett is a good bet for octochamp himself now.

If ever a player deserved to be a finalist it was Angus. Great play from Brett. Seems like 4 large is gonna feature heavily in this series! Speaking of which, no 4-large tricks needed for R6.
2nd Numbers:
100 + 75 + (50/25 x 6) = 187; 187 x 5 = 935

Angus scored in all the letters rounds and got the conundrum - and yet still lost. Has that happened before?
Re: Spoilers for Monday 28th July 2025 - Series 92, Heat 21
Might have happened in the 9 round era, losing a game with no points dropped in non-numbers rounds. Not sure about 15.
Also I believe (and am reliably informed) this is the first consecutive double-century game in prelims.
I think Angus has the second highest average for a non-octochamp (106.25) after Zarte Siempre’s 109.33 in his original stint in 2013.
With all the above considered, I think Angus should be allowed to return earlier.
Lots of returnees this series as well. Will this series have the most returnees?

Yes, but a select few have been on three series. Mick Purdie is one of them (he was in my series as well). Another is Jodine Lawrence who I met just before my Grand Final and got her third go on the Black to Front edition in 2021.Fiona T wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 8:20 pmAngus was already a returneePhilip A wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:39 pm Might have happened in the 9 round era, losing a game with no points dropped in non-numbers rounds. On a separate note, the late Hamish Cameron appeared on 8 series of Mastermind from 1990 to 2019.

I decided it was easier to try the 937.5 way first, which worked, than work out what 935/5 is and then risk not being able to make it.Tracey Anne Mills wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:45 amThat was the way I wentJohn Garcia wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 3:41 pm If ever a player deserved to be a finalist it was Angus.
